The day we become a mom is the day that we take on a permanent role that most of us just really aren’t ready for. We spent so much time working on the individuals we were before kids that this arrival of a human opens up vulnerability, love, and chaos like we’ve never known. Choosing how we engage this mom role determines how we rise above just living in survival mode and allows us to evolve into deeper and broader versions of the women we were before their arrival. We are powerful when we are able to more fully embrace the challenges and heart aching love motherhood surfaces for us.

We must find the time to care for ourselves. It’s a choice, yes. But a necessary one. And one our children and family will be grateful we made. Because in the spaces we find for caring and loving ourselves more we are able to care and love for those around us with greater capacity.
