Golden Milk: Self-Care In A Cup

Golden Milk for me is self-care in a cup.  It nourishes my body, heart, soul and mind. It starts with the pause of daily life, which can be a bit busy, to make said golden milk. There are many health benefits to drinking golden milk and those are lovely. For me though it is all about the feelings of golden milk. Calm, nourished, intentional. The aroma that fills me up, the warmth in my mug in my hand, and the nourishment that I can feel soothing my soul as I sip it down.

When I tell people that I drink golden milk everyday I often hear the familiar reasoning for so many things that we think would be good for us but don’t do, “I don’t have time for that.” Well my loves, here’s the thing... there are many ways to make this delicious elixir happen and the first will take you less than 5 minutes to make.

The simplest yet power packed and nutrient-dense option is the incredible paste from LIVEeverWELL called a Cup of Sun. I completely love this product, it gives you all the goodness of simmering for an hour except filling your house with the delicious smells.  This paste makes golden milk so simple, take a spoonful and into the mug it goes with hot water, a touch of honey and some almond milk on top or if you want to get really fancy you can froth the milk and stir the paste right in.

If you have a bit more time, you might try making some golden goodness the “old fashion” way, simmering the herbs in milk on the stove for about an hour, I have included my recipe below but don’t be afraid to play with it! If you are feeling a little spicy add a dare of cayenne or a drop of chili oil, for the sweeter side of life a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup. We would love to hear what you think.  Let us know what your favorite combo is and if you get all the good juju from golden milk that we do.
